We think of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi as a BIG dog in a LITTLE dog's body! The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is one of the most agreeable of all small house dogs. These little guys are strong, athletic, and lively little herders who are affectionate and companionable without being needy.
Coming in at number 18 in popularity, they are one of the world's most popular herding breeds. Pembroke Welsh Corgis stand between10 and12 inches at the shoulder and weighing 27 to 30 pounds, a well-built male Pembroke presents a big dog in a small package. Short but powerful legs, muscular thighs, and a deep chest allow him to put in a hard day’s work, but he is equally content playing with and enjoying apartment or city life digs. Built long and low, Pembroke Welsh Corgis are surprisingly quick and agile. They can be red, sable, fawn, and black and tan, with or without white markings.
The Pembroke is a bright, happy dog who enjoys play with his human family and responds well to training. As herders bred to move cattle, they are fearless and independent. They are vigilant watchdogs, with acute senses and a BIG dog passion for their families.
At Quivira Corgis we pride ourselves on raising healthy, well-adjusted AKC registered Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies that work equally well for city and country dwellers. Our puppies all have been temperment tested and come from health tested parents. In addition all of our puppies come with a two year genetic health guarantee.
